We Select, You Collect service remains open for business

Bookworms are reminded that Wolverhampton Libraries' click and collect service remains open during the current Covid-19 lockdown.

The ‘We Select, You Collect’ service enables customers to pre-order books and other items online or over the phone and safely pick them up at a pre-arranged time.

Customers can collect their items from Central, Warstones, Wednesfield, Bilston, Tettenhall and Finchfield libraries.

Library members can pre-order titles via the online catalogue at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/libraries, by emailing libraries@wolverhampton.gov.uk or by calling 01902 552025. As well as taking requests for specific titles, ‘Lucky Dip Bags’ – ready-made bags of particular genres such as thrillers and crime stories as well as children’s books – are also available.

Councillor Stephen Simkins, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "Our libraries have unfortunately had to remain closed to keep people safe throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and this has enabled us to broaden our horizons in terms of shaping and enhancing our library service.

“The We Select, You Collect service – alongside our online offer – is enabling hundreds of members to continue to get their reading fix, and we are pleased to be able to continue to offer it during the current lockdown, with customers able to pick up their items from six different locations.

"Customers can also get hold of the latest collection of bestselling eBooks and eAudiobooks for free via the BorrowBox library app, which works on Apple iOS and Google Android phones, tablets or computers.

"Meanwhile, our Home Library Service, which is run in partnership with Citizens Advice Wolverhampton, is continuing to deliver items directly to our most vulnerable housebound members."

Library members are advised that all books and other items currently out on loan have been automatically renewed until the end of January, so no fines will accrue before that time. In addition, items can be returned via dedicated collection points at the six We Select, You Collect libraries, or renewed online or over the phone.

Please note, all 16 of the city’s libraries remain closed to visitors at this time, apart from click and collect from the six listed above. Further plans for their reopening will be announced in due course.

It's free to join Wolverhampton’s libraries and people can sign up on line. Please visit www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/libraries or follow on social media at www.facebook.com/wolveslibrariesand www.twitter.com/wolveslibraries for more information.
