Countdown is on as exciting We Love Tamworth festival returns to Castle Grounds next month
- We Love Tamworth returning for a weekend of fun
- Food Gusto and New Urban Era joining the event
- Community groups and stall holders invited to book a place
The countdown is on as Tamworth Borough Council prepare for the glorious annual town festival as We Love Tamworth returns next month for a two-day event at the stunning Castle Grounds.
The action-packed day of activities for the whole family is set to take place on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11, and will bring with it a variety of entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy.
The event, which has been running since 2012, has been so popular that this year will take place over both Saturday and Sunday and will include stalls, a fairground, the Food Gusto, games, a fun children’s zone, obstacle courses, a bouncy castle and live music from Bryan Brindley – just to mention a few.
The Sandy Pig Mascot will also be making a comeback for the two days!
Plus, due to last year’s success, this year’s entertainment will also include the town’s second Environmental Arts Festival, led by New Urban Era.
A first for this year, the Reliant Club will be joining us for their annual meet-up in the grounds on the Sunday. Reliant vehicles are set to park up and be a part of this great festival atmosphere.
Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events team are also on the lookout for community groups who are interested in promoting their group or maybe performing on the Castle Grounds upper lawn during the event. Please contact via: TARartsdevelopment@tamworth.gov.uk.
Cllr Robert Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Tamworth Borough Council, said: “What a summer of packed events and entertainment we’ve experienced this year, with Castle Summer Fest, Commonwealth Games live screening, football final screening, full programme of performances and activities at the Assembly Rooms, a new exhibition at the castle! We can’t wait for September to come for even more fun.
“We truly have been spoilt this year and we’re finishing summer in true Tamworth style. The We Love Tamworth event draws crowds from far and wide and this year we’re going bigger and better, with the addition of the Reliant Club members, Food Gusto and the Environmental Arts Festival.”
The weekend extravaganza would not be the same without local stalls holders. If you are interested in setting up a stall at this year’s event, please contact mark.kyte@tamworthlions.org.uk who is on the lookout for any charity or commercial stalls. All proceeds from the stall fees will go to local and national good causes.
