Walsall Council has intensified its campaign against fly-tipping with the introduction of the EnviroCrime Trailer. As it makes its way through the borough, the trailer's upcoming stop at Walsall Arboretum will offer residents a convenient opportunity to report issues and gather important information on waste management.
On Tuesday, 27 August 2024, the trailer will be stationed at the Grange car park in Walsall Arboretum, from 10am to 2pm offering residents the opportunity to engage with environmental officers and report fly-tipping concerns directly.
The aim of this trailer is to provide a mobile information hub to encourage residents to visit the trailer to chat and report any fly tipping concerns around their area.
This initiative is part of the Council’s ‘EnviroCrime’ project which aims to foster a stronger community approach to combating environmental crime.
Councillor Kerry Murphy, Portfolio Holder for Street Pride at Walsall Council, said “We are committed to addressing the problem of fly-tipping and ensuring that Walsall remains a clean and pleasant place to live and the trailer is a crucial part of our strategy.”

The trailer, which made its debut outside of Aldridge Community Centre on Thursday 1 August 2024, will be focusing on addressing fly-tipping in the wards of Streetly, Pheasey and Paddock until 6 September 2024. They will be patrolling these wards in the EnviroCrime car and investigating fly-tips along the way.
Residents will also be provided information about the council's bulky waste collections, household waste recycling centres (HWRCs), and the proper channels for reporting environmental crimes such as fly-tipping, dog fouling, and improper disposal of needles. Residents will be able to raise their concerns, and report instances of fly-tipping directly.
The EnviroCrime Trailer will continue its tour of the Streetly, Pheasey, and Paddock wards until 6 September 2024. Following this date, the focus will shift to the next set of designated wards.
