Pride month in June may have come to an end, but there’s still a chance to celebrate Pride with two events coming up at Walsall Arboretum in July and August 2024.
Walsall Council is reflecting its commitment to diversity and inclusion with a Pride Picnic in the Park on Sunday 28 July 2024, and the return of the annual Walsall Pride Festival on Saturday 24 August 2024.
Councillor Gary Flint, Portfolio Holder Health and Wellbeing, said, “Pride events play a crucial role in promoting visibility, acceptance and equality for the borough’s LGBTQ+ community. It’s a chance to celebrate and show support and I hope as many people as possible, from all walks of life, will come along to be part of these celebrations.”
The Pride Picnic in the Park will take place on Sunday 28 July 2024 from 12 noon to 5pm and will feature live music at Walsall Arboretum’s bandstand. The event is completely free for everyone to attend, so pack a picnic and come along and enjoy a day of live music and entertainment at the bandstand.
Acts include KyleFinnMusic, Faye Bagley, Imogen Nicole, Karl M Entertainments, PJ Taylor, Miss Lips, Kurtis Bray and Craig Pate.
Walsall Arboretum will also play host to the annual Walsall Pride Festival, taking place on Saturday 24 August 2024 between 11am and 8pm, with tickets required for entry.
Walsall Pride is an event for the whole community that inspires everyone to embrace equality and demonstrates that people from all walks of life can join together and celebrate diversity.
On the day there will be two performance stages, fair rides, a dance arena, licensed bars, food vendors and much more.
