Tamworth Information Centre (TIC), based at the Tamworth Assembly Rooms, has now reopened its face-to-face service for visitors, since closing due to the pandemic.
The Corporation Street theatre, which includes the Box Office and information centre desk, originally opened following the theatre’s refurbishment and will greet visitors as soon as they enter the building.
The opening hours will see the TIC open to members of the public from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday and Sunday doors open alongside show times.
Tamworth Information Centre has continued to provide a range of services for residents and visitors to the town remotely, while the Assembly Rooms was closed due to the Covid restrictions, but is delighted to be fully reopened to the public.
Services include selling tickets for the Assembly Rooms and Tamworth Castle, coach tour and event bookings, National Express tickets, Arriva bus vouchers, parking permits, information on local amenities and services and green bin subscriptions.
Cllr Robert Pritchard. Deputy Leader of Tamworth Borough Council, said: “The TIC moved to the newly refurbished Tamworth Assembly Rooms back in January 2020, but sadly had to close in March 2020 following the first national lockdown.
“The Assembly Rooms is the perfect location for the TIC, as it’s a busy, more central area of the town and offers a flexible and extended opening hours, in line with the use of the theatre.
“The Claymore Lounge has also reopened in the daytime, so visitors will be able to pop in for a coffee and light refreshments, while booking their show tickets or enquiring about local services and amenities.
“TIC staff have already been offering a virtual and telephone service during the pandemic and are looking forward to seeing customers face to face once again.
“We are delighted to be able to open safely for the people of Tamworth and visitors, and we look forward to welcoming them through the doors of this fabulous venue.”
