Roadworks around Kings Norton Cemetery

People attending funerals at a Birmingham cemetery are being asked to allow more time for their journeys as roadworks on Longdales Road, Kings Norton begin today (13 January 2023).

Road resurfacing works are scheduled for two weeks, with a full road closure between Primrose Hill and Icknield Street until 23 January, effective from 7.30am to 6pm each day.

This will affect access to Kings Norton Cemetery, where funerals will go ahead as planned, but families attending are asked to allow extra time for their journeys in order to navigate this road closure.

Every effort will be made to allow visitors access to the cemetery, but there may be wait times or requirement to go the other way around to a gain access, due to traffic management.

There is also no access to Kings Norton Cemetery on 18 January between 7am and 12.30pm due to resurfacing taking place immediately outside the entrance. No funerals are planned for that morning and traffic management will apply from 12.30pm onwards on that day.

For more information visit the roadworks section of the council’s website - www.birmingham.gov.uk/roadworks - or call Kier’s Customer Service team on 0121 303 6644.
