More than 310,000 doses of the life-saving Covid-19 vaccine have now been given in Wolverhampton, with over 143,000 people having the best protection against the virus after receiving both jabs.
Latest figures show that, to date, 166,712 people have had their first dose, with 143,808 fully vaccinated.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “The Covid-19 vaccines are safe and give protection from serious illness caused by coronavirus, so it is important that everyone who can get vaccinated does so and has their second dose as soon as they can.
“There are over 30 walk-in vaccination clinics taking place in Wolverhampton every week, offering first and second doses of the vaccine without an appointment. They are all open to over 18s, and some are offering vaccinations to 16 and 17-year-olds too.
"So if you have not had your jab yet, or are now due your second dose, please pop along to your nearest walk-in clinic and get protected today."
