The charity Crimestoppers is appealing to the public to contact them anonymously if they know the whereabouts of Mohammed Kasim Khan, wanted in connection with the extensive torture of a Birmingham woman and other more recent attacks.
Khan, who is 23 years old, was involved in the torture of a young woman over a five-hour period, in a multiple occupancy property in Acocks Green, Birmingham on Saturday, 12 August 2023. The victim’s room was broken into by Khan in the early hours of the morning. He has been on the run ever since and is described as extremely dangerous.
Along with his girlfriend who has already been found guilty and is awaiting sentencing, Khan continuously beat the victim and poured bleach into her eyes and mouth. Her hair was burnt and she was forced to strip naked and eat cat food and litter. Personal property was also stolen.
***Crimestoppers - who are independent of the police - is supporting the investigation by offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information the charity exclusively receives that leads to the arrest of Mohammed Kasim Khan. The reward is available for three months and is due to expire on 15 June 2024***
As a result of her ordeal, the young woman was left with a broken nose, severe swelling to the eyes and significant damage to her mental health.
Khan is wanted in connection with these offences and two other more recent separate attacks, where he allegedly hit one person over the head with a hammer and slashed another with a machete.
It is believed Khan is a Class A drug dealer who administers punishment to those who pay him late.
The advice is not to approach Khan, but to contact the police or the charity Crimestoppers if you wish to stay anonymous.
Alan Edwards, Regional Manager at the charity Crimestoppers, said: “Due to the escalating violent and callous actions of Khan, who is very dangerous, it is vital that he is arrested as soon as possible. There is a real risk that others could come to harm.
“Our charity is supporting the police as they hunt for this individual by offering a reward. We are reminding everyone – especially those who may be intimidated into silence – that they have the option to stay completely anonymous when contacting us.
“If you know where Khan is and you contact Crimestoppers directly, you could be entitled to a reward of up to £10,000.
“Our charity is here for you if you do not want to speak to the authorities directly and prefer not to give your personal details. Crimestoppers is independent of the police and guarantees you stay completely anonymous.
“Crimestoppers is open 24/7, 365 days a year, both online and on the phone. Nobody will ever know that you contacted us and you will be doing the right thing.”
***Information passed directly to police will not qualify for a reward. Only information passed directly to Crimestoppers using the anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org or Fearless.org for young people or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111 will qualify***
