Arts Alive are delivering a quirky show for youngsters to keep boredom at bay during the holidays. They have booked Clementines Live Arts to perform Ernie’s Journey at the SpArC Theatre in Bishops Castle on Tuesday, July 27.
Ernie's Journey is a magical circus theatre adventure for family audiences. The show combines story-telling, physical theatre, circus, illusion, puppetry and a live concert harp score to nurture the audience’s inner child.
Performance artist Jackie Clementines performs the show. Cerin Mills, Live Events Programmer from Arts Alive, said, “Jackie specialises in unusual interdisciplinary combinations, thought-provoking narratives and unadulterated silliness! Jackie has toured circus and theatre shows across numerous countries, and now we are lucky enough to have his show in Shropshire during their 2021 tour. The show is aimed at 4-11 year-olds but the circus skills promise to amaze even the most cynical teenagers!”
Tickets are available for two one-hour shows on the day at 1pm and 6pm. Families can also book on to a circus skills workshop suitable for all ages and abilities. A spokesman from the circus said, “Learn how to throw, catch, balance, spin and roll a whole host of traditional circus props! Participants will be invited to learn juggling, diablo, flower sticks, poi and plate spinning to name but a few. There will be something in this workshop for everyone, regardless of age or ability.”
Deborah Baddoo from TYCA had this to say about the show, “Ernie’s Journey is a funny, fabulous and engaging show for young people. They ingeniously incorporate a range of circus skills, spoken word and audience interaction seamlessly into a crazy and appealing kid’s adventure!”
Ernie’s Journey will be performed at the SpArC Theatre in Bishops Castle on Tuesday, July 27. There are shows at 1pm and 6pm and workshops at 2:30pm and 4pm, each lasting one hour.
