A first for Tamworth is an afternoon showing of Walt Disney Animation Studios' Encanto on Sunday, July 24. Teenage daughter, Mirabel, must face the frustration of being the only member of her family without magical powers.

And remember…..we don’t talk about Bruno!

Later the same day, (Sunday July 24) audiences are invited to experience one of the greatest spectacles ever captured on film – The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Get ready to ‘jump to the left, step to the right and put your hands on your hips,’ as the time warp takes to the screen with the musical that features sing-along classics. The story describes a newly engaged couple that discover an isolate area following their car breakdown, forcing them to seek shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr Frank-n-Furter.

All tickets are priced at £8. Gates open at 8pm, for a 9pm film start. Please note this film is aged restricted for 15-year-olds and above.

Another outstanding musical takes to the outdoor screen on Wednesday, August 10, with a 2021 blockbuster favourite, West Side Story, directed by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg,

“The exciting summer programme delivered by Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts & Events, is made bigger than usual thanks to Tamworth’s first Castle Summer Fest - three weeks of back-to-back activities, sports, live music and entertainment, guaranteed to bring the town together for the biggest celebration ever in the outdoor events calendar.”
